What we do

What We Do

Seven ways we support women through practical help, learning and personal transformation. Counselling is available after completing our Freedom Programme.

Support shaped around women

No referral needed. No cost. No judgement.

You can join a class, come to the Baby Bank or ask about a support group by sending one short message. Counselling is available only to women who have completed our Freedom Programme. If you are not sure which support is right for you, we will help you work it out.

English Classes for Beginners
Wednesdays, 10.30am – 2pm

01 — Programme

English Classes for Beginners

A gentle, patient class for women who are just starting out with English. We begin with the language you need for everyday life — appointments, school, shopping, work — in a small group where nobody is rushed and no question is too small.

  • Small beginner-friendly groups
  • Everyday, practical vocabulary
  • Reading, writing, speaking and listening
  • A relaxed pace with lots of encouragement
  • A first step towards further learning or work
Financial Resilience Course
Wednesdays, 10.30am – 2pm

02 — Programme

Financial Resilience Course

Money worries can feel overwhelming and isolating. This course breaks things down into manageable steps, helping women build the practical skills and confidence to manage a budget, understand their options and plan ahead without shame or judgement.

  • Building and sticking to a realistic budget
  • Understanding bills, debt and priority payments
  • Saving small amounts consistently
  • Knowing where to turn for further help
  • One-to-one support alongside the group
Freedom From Domestic Violence
Thursdays, 10.30am – 2pm

03 — Programme

Freedom From Domestic Violence

A supportive course that helps women understand domestic abuse within relationships — the patterns, the tactics and the effect it has. Many women tell us that for the first time, things finally made sense. Understanding is often the first step towards freedom.

  • Understanding controlling and coercive behaviour
  • Recognising unhealthy relationship patterns
  • The impact of abuse on women and children
  • What healthy respect and equality look like
  • A confidential space, at your own pace
Counselling Services
After the Freedom Programme

04 — Programme

Counselling Services

Our counselling service offers a private, supportive space to process experiences, strengthen emotional wellbeing and move forward at your own pace. Counselling is available only to women who have completed our Freedom Programme.

  • Only for women who have completed the Freedom Programme
  • Private one-to-one counselling sessions
  • Space to talk openly and feel heard
  • Support with emotional wellbeing and healing
  • Focused on moving forward at your own pace
The Flourish Programme
Thursdays, 10.30am – 2pm

05 — Programme

The Flourish Programme

Flourish is our support group for survivors of domestic violence. It is a warm, confidential space to be heard by women who understand — and to slowly rebuild confidence, identity and hope alongside them. Nobody has to do this on their own.

  • Peer support with women who understand
  • Rebuilding confidence and self-worth
  • Coping tools for anxiety and difficult days
  • Setting goals and looking forward again
  • Ongoing aftercare, not a one-off
Our Baby Bank
Fridays, 10.30am – 2pm

06 — Programme

Our Baby Bank

Our Baby Bank supplies clothing, nappies, equipment and other essentials for babies and young children. Everything is offered quietly and with dignity — because no mother should have to choose between heating, eating and nappies.

  • Baby and children’s clothing
  • Nappies, wipes and toiletries
  • Bottles, feeding and bedding essentials
  • Larger items subject to safety standards
  • Referrals and self-referrals both welcome
The Munchies Lunch Project
Last Friday before half term, 10.30am – 2pm

07 — Programme

The Munchies Lunch Project

School holidays put real pressure on families who rely on free school meals. Before each half term, our volunteers pack and hand out lunches so that children have something good to eat and parents have one less thing to worry about.

  • Packed lunches for children in the holidays
  • Run by local volunteers
  • Offered without means-testing or judgement
  • A warm welcome and a cup of tea
  • Donations of food and time always needed
